Marine Collagen

Collagen accounts for 70% of the skin's weight. Its surface area is represented by the epidermis. Under this first layer is the dermis, which is essentially made up of collagen. It is also found in bone, tendons, ligaments, intervertebral discs, sciatic nerve, eye (vitreous, cornea). 
The molecular structure of collagen in the form of a triple helix allows it to act as an anchoring structure allowing epidermal cells to bind to the basement membrane.
